FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE Release Date: Out Since October 22

Out now. FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE released on October 22, 2026, and the Steam page now shows a released game with a price instead of a pre-order button. PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, Switch 2 and the PC version in the North American notice all use it. The one exception comes from Japan: Square Enix’s Japanese notice lists Steam separately as October 23, while the US Steam page still says October 22.

Why the two dates exist

This is not “Steam launches a day late worldwide”. It is two regions writing their own store copy. The Japanese notice gives a Steam pre-order deadline of 00:59 JST on October 23. The US PlayStation listing shows an unlock at 04:00 UTC on October 22. Those moments are close together and only look a day apart once converted to local dates. Square Enix has never published a timezone rule explaining it, so do not quote the Japanese date at players elsewhere. Do not treat the North American date as a promise for every region either.

How to check it yourself

Because the game is out, the store no longer shows a countdown. Open the page for your region and look at the price and the download button. If a region is not live yet, the page still shows a wishlist or pre-order button instead. That is how you tell.
